I have millions of them,, but I prefer to buy on Ebay.

    but I have used www.hlj.com and www.toyeast.com

There are also millions of partworks in mainland Europe, impossible to keep up with them, everything from every single Citroen 2CV to French Dinky Toys.

I have a few of them, Mostly old Japanese tin models, and VW's at that :)

I have one interesting one, a Dinky Comet Airline made made by Dinky with the number G-ALYV which was same the number of the Comet that crashed in Calcutta on 02 MAY 1953. Dinky changed that number on their models immediately after.

Anyone into currently made VW's models, I would highly recommend the Sunstar range, The namesounds tacky but the detail in their models are superb, the wheels on the beetle / bus have 5 bolts!!!. Semaphores pop out, steering rack, engine etc. They are expensive at over e160 but a must if you have the real thing. http://www.sunstartoys.com/

Me too, three rooms full of them and counting...............
What are your favorites? For me it's the Matchbox mg1 motorway service station, spent many hours playing with it as a kid. Probably my favorites are the CMC ones, I have the Maserati birdcage and the Mercedes car transporter, the detail is amazing and the Matchbox Fiat 1500 too, and the VW variant fastback........ I could go on and on. And the Sunstar VW samba bus.........

No Max, it's a Fiat 1500, a Matchbox model from the late 60's early 70's.

All I can say is Wow, 3nero, that is some collection, I love the circus collection, I have most of them and a funfair collection too I bought from Vectis a few years ago, most of the stuff is handmade and amazing detail. Great models there xr2central, the XR3 is a beut, is it the Sunstar one?
The Granada Coupe I got from JM models, it's a Russian handmade one, very rare now and very expensive. I think it was the last one they had. There's a version by Neo just out now for around 60 euros in gold, blue and silver. I've seen them on ebay too.

What can I say...........take a bow man, that stuff is just amazing, your a credit to your profession. I think when all is said and done I prefer models to the real things, the fact that you can store and restore models a lot easier than the real things is a huge plus.

Here are a few from the Retromobile..........

you should start up a museum

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,407 ✭✭✭G Luxel

yes I should but yet to see that happen. I dont even know how many I have and I have only shown half the collection...............:D

I am selling some models, check the adverts under my roomname.

I just check out the worlds largest model car collection which is around 8000 which I thought is low, its in New York and is exclusively Hot Wheels...... There was a museum in Denmark which had 14,000 models but it has since closed and everything has been sold off :(
