Dental treatment in Budapest - "save up to 50%" apparently

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I need to get braces, but I'm skint. Any reduction in the cost would help buffer the inevitable financial raping that braces engender.

    The website is www.madenta.ie

I'm just looking into it now. I'm wondering if it would be more hassle than it's worth.

    Thoughts, comments?

Well unless you lived in Budapest, it wouldn't be worth it.

....Sorry didn't read it properly. But still I think with braces you'd be better just going up the North to save a few quid.

It's based around the idea of saving money by getting the orthodontics done in budapest and the consultation and aftercare done done in Dublin. I think.

They pay for your first flight over and back, and they give you some discount on staying in a nearby hotel.

Still, if the money saved overall isn't significant, it's not worth it. That's why I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

With train tracks braces you will need to go for return appointments every 2/3 months for tightening.... The flights I imagine will add to the cost....

Between €1,000-2,000. I'm in the process of researching this myself. I'll post when I find out what I'd be charged up North.

Been quoted €3,750 for full set of braces (but that's without X-rays, models etc.) here.

I think that can be done in Dublin, though I may be wrong. I'm looking into it now.

    1-2 k? That's pretty damn good.
What about ceramic braces, are they available up north? I hate the heavy train-track looks, agh!

Yeah, I know. But also with going up the North you have to weigh up the time it takes to get there - whether you have to take time off work/college etc. If I can get someone who works a Saturday I'll be heading up there sharpish!

True. Are the prices cheaper generally everywhere in the North, or are there a few specific places?
