i have been looking on sites suggested on here such as dell, laptopsdirect, dabs, and elara.ie but cannot seem to pick out anything.
have a budget of around 850 or so and was looking for a good laptop, as the last one i had where i plug the charger to the computer has broken and this will possibly be expensive to fix. as the laptop was nearly 5 years old would not be worth fixing.
last laptop was expenisive at the time, but it lasted longer because it had better specs than some cheaper options, and that is why i am willing to spend more on a half decent one. sometimes for grapics programs, sometimes for games.
    any help would be appreciated.

do not have that much to spend :(

a laptop for games like football manager, in a few years it will still be able to run the newer versions with a few of the leagues open, without waiting ages each time.

is there much of a difference between 3 and 4 gb of memory ? alos should i go for something that has memory expanadble to 8gb ? not too sure about the different processors either. blu ray no concern to me.

    thanks again for the reply

The Operating System will most likely be 32bit, which means that the system will only be able to use about 3.5Gb of RAM, so spending more on RAM up to 8Gb is really not worth unless you go 64bit.

thanks, had a compaq up until it broke. any particular make and models you can recommend. some of the acer laptops seem good value for what you get.
