I'm going to install a new HD and wonder what is the normal process with games that have DRM? Instail them to a new disk with the same serial codes or do I have to deactivate them before removing my old HD? (some of the games are Far Cry and Dead Space as an eg.)

Most will just be a case of installing again with the serial key. Some games (Spore for example) give you a limited number of activations and you need to un-install it to get an activation back.

windows checks against the hardware and then wpa.dbl is the file where windows keeps the activation for that hardware, so you can restore your windows activation after reinstalling

not sure if games use a similar method though
