Did anyone watch the Seve section on BBC yesterday and think that he must have just died?
Turned on the telly yesterday morning and there was a mini documentary about Seve on BBC, which was excellent.
Then it cuts to Gary Lineker, Sam Torrence and Ken Brown talking for the next 5 minutes about the great man in the past tense and how much of a great inspiration and how great for the game he was.
I honestly thought Seve had passed away until Lineker says "...and we have him on the phone right now". It was all very strange the way they were talking about him.

my dad ( playing golf over 40 years ) thought he was dead, even saw tears running down his face !!

We have a pix at home of me talking to Seve back when I was about 5/6 and he was playing in Royal Dublin and he came over to me to talk about the rabbits running around the course :)

I also read somewhere yeasterday that he has pencilled in The Open in St Andrews next year as a milestone for his recovery. He wants to play as a thankyou to the public and people who have supported him.

    The man is a legend.

Yeah I thought exactly the same, Lineker in particular was very sombre and everything he said about Seve was in past tense...i actually checked Sky News to see if he had passed away...

Yeah they were definitely talking about him as though he had just died. It was a good little film though, except they seemed to use the same photographs and footage a few too many times.

Thank god he hasn't died. I'm only just getting over Jade Goody, and haven't even started to grieve for MJ yet. I couldn't handle another true great of our times popping their clogs. The BBC want to have a long hard look at themselves... with the constant rumours about Girls Aloud splitting up i'm already a bag of nerves as it is.

I saw it and thought his condition had worsened and he had passed away  Had to check internet and soon was reassured, but they had me for a few minutes. It was the kind of thing BBC might have put together a few months ago when it was touch and go. Good to hear him talking and sounding strong though. It would be a major achievement for him to even appear at St Andrews I think, never mind hitting balls, but with Seve, you never know.:)

I thought it was a brilliant piece, although yes it did seem a bit like an obituary! The background music (played by my fave band) really swung it for me ;) Nearly brought a tear to my eye.

I just watched him with Peter Alliss on the beeb, he looks pretty good all things considered.

I taught the same, and they had black shirts on too.
