went to rathcore with my society last Saturday, and have to say i was very impressed with the place. first up complimentary tea and coffee i know it costs feck all but few places do it.fine club house with good food.
the course is a joy to play not the longest but you have to be clever.
tee boxes and fairways were in terrific order.massive undulating greens.
some terrific par threes, and a lot of greens protected by water.
would recommend it as it is great fun.mind you a few of my pro vs are having a long bath:mad:

Glad you liked it - one of my favourites.
Spend 5 minutes in any rough and you'll come out with a few finds. Sorry to have missed your ProVs, all I got were Srixon and Pinnacles.

Good track alright, I really enjoyed it when I played it.

    Place was in great shape.

Eagled the last aswell, put my second up to about three feet and rolled in the putt, so I might be a bit biased:D

Yeah its a smashing lil course - played it twice!!
As was said - its short, but there's water on almost every hole, even if its only 15 / 20 yards in front of the tee, or a small pond in front of the green!! You've gotta think ahead!

+1 on the golf balls, but no one seems to collect them or own a ball retreiver! I dont own one (not that i dont need one), but my mate fished out 20 balls one evening - there was no one behind us!! Maybe only got 10 decent ones, but we hit a few of the crap ones on the 18th practicing, and dropped a few short and got wet!! LOL!!

Would really recommend the course!! 20 yo yos before midday Monday to Thursday - great value!!

Should be playing here shortly, at €20 it seems a bargin.

Does anyone have any tips or things that I should look out for? I hear its not overly long but tricky in places???

played it a few weeks ago, there are a lot of short holes alright, but tricky, 1st time playing it is a bit of a shot in the dark, need to play it twice really. there's a hill there with about 5 different tee boxes on it, slightly confusing 1st time around. 18th is a lovely finishing hole, i was within 120 yards on the green after 2 (par 5), it's protected by water, hit what i thought was a fairly good 9 iron. SPLASH!!!!!!! but overall for 20 euro it's fine.

Right so, might try and get down before I play a comp there. Think its open week there, heard for €20 its excellent value. Kevin Markham gave it 89/100 in his book, so will look forward to playing it!

Played it twice recently from both yellow and white tees. Not all that short from white tees. It's my favourite course. If it was 20 minutes closer I'd join without hesitation. When it matures it will be even tougher. Favourite holes are the par 3 11th, the 17th, 18th and although short the 6th and 7th are great holes as they make you think off the tee. €20 is a bargain before 12. Am playing again later in the month and am looking forward to it already.
