I just finished my bachelors degree and am considering a course in Ballyfermot college, specifically the 1 year cinematography course. From what I've read this would be considered a step down and I would be ineligible for any VEC grants. Is this correct?

I was told that as I hold a Level 7 qualification and the course I am doing in September is a Level 5, I will not qualify for a grant.
