    Hello,

Am pricing building house at the minute. Anyone got any estimates on how much it is to build in Cork at the moment?

Am looking at going down the builder route, and not the self build. So would be very interested in hearing what quotes people are seeing at the minute...

    Thanks.

I am building in Rathcormac at the moment. http://grianan.blogspot.com/

Lots of quotes between €55 > €95 per sq ft but we decided on a particular builder as the references were great and finishes top quality.

My builder quoted €75 per sq ft for a block home at a decent spec. We wanted a few upgrades like ICF, Concrete first floor, floating upper balcony so it has ended up at €82 per sq ft.

Next door to my build is another build that has just completed and that builder quoted €54 but that is a very basic finish and it looks it.

i'm building in the cork region at the moment - builder quote worked out at about €70 per sq ft. Thats not just a standard build - it's including HRV, triple glaze, interior doors, garage, driveway and entrance.

Had got a lot of good recommendations about the builder before going with him and would have no complaints yet. At roof level at the moment so a bit to go but so far so good. PM if you want details

preparing to build in Cork, got quotes between €68 and €96/sqft at SAME spec. Shop around is all I can say. This house is costing me under 100K self build / direct labour at same spec so it puts me in a position to make serious upgrades to specs. If anyone does direct labour and the trademans does not invite you to a current site you may wonder what his work is like. I inspeted all sites of various trademan quoting and hope that has helped through caution to the wind wrt quality.

I'm just at the tendering stage for my build, approx 1600sqft, not massive, one quote back is roughly €82sqft. I hope to get my tenders out in about 2 weeks and see from there. Initially i was quoted €100k by a contractor, 3 bed bengalow, 2 bio-cycle units and footpath. A few other bits too.

I have redrawn, to include an extension, so thats where the new tender comes in. I am building in East Cork, between Midleton, and Rathcormac.

Read the flipping charter. And he didn't ask for recommendations, just prices.
