Good guide to dismantling a Gaggia Classic

I've just spent the last 2 hours taking my Classic apart and giving it a thorough clean, de-scale and backflush.

I found THIS guide and it helped me dismantle it one layer further than I have gone before, taking off the Shower holding plate and cleaning out behind it.

I'm sure most of the die hards were aware of this guide or something similar, but I found it invaluable, and I have taken most of the machine apart before, done the over pressure vale adjustment, Silvia steam wand replacement, but I had never taken off the shower holding plate, there was some amount of crap trapped up behind it. If you can get a longer screw that is the same thread as the little short one that holds the filter in place and screw it in to the centre of the shower holding plate it forces the plate down and out of the machine easily.

Just thought I'd share my little discovery!
