Where do I get "solid" internal white doors.

    Folks,

Were replacing all our internal doors as the builder recommended it for two reasons:
    1) They're hollow and give no soundproofing.
    2) Nearly the rest of the house is getting redecorated and new doors would finish off the look better.

They're pretty standard 6 panel white doors, and we're happy with the colour of them, but I'm struggling to find a source of solid (as heavy as possible) doors that can be painted, most places seem to only offer them in their original natural colour.

Where is a good source to get white doors that are as heavy as possible.

    Thanks,
    LK.

if you are repainting them and are looking for 6 panel doors

the heavyiest you should look for is
1/2 hour regency 6 panel fire door, this should be in are around 65+vat price mark.

it will be quiet heavy. the doors are pre primed and avail in wood grain or smooth and in 4 or 6 panel.

your main issue will be with the gaps around the door with airbourn sound.

If the only issue with your existing doors is soundproofing here's a cheap solution:
    Take the door down
Drill a couple of holes top and bottom
Fill the cavity of the door with expanding foam (the canned stuff)
Fill the holes you drilled sand and paint
Result sound proof door without the cost of purchase and hanging.

This won't work as almost every hollow core wooden door has that cardboard honeycomb mesh as a support in the centre - you'd have to fill every void in the mesh.

The internal version of retro-insulating cavity block walls, not to mention the fire hazard.

    NOT a good idea

Struggling to find places in Dublin that stock this. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
