ATP? Brilliant festival. Heading to the 10 years one in December. Booking the chalet today. Its a really great festival the line ups are always first class and having a festival in a Butlins actually makes a lot more sense than you would think.

I've been to the Explosions in the Sky one last year and really enjoyed.

Booked my chalet for the 10 year anniversary one a few weeks back. Super line up, can't wait.

The venues are small enough, I think the overall capacity of the festival is 6,000 or thereabouts. Crowd seemed to be mid twenties upwards. Very chilled out, no trouble at all.

It's a great festival - well worth going to. Bands are encouraged to hang about for the whole weekend so you'll end up in the crowd dancing alongside bands that were on stage a few hours beforehand.

Also - there's a Tesco just down the road so if you get a self-catering chalet it's easy to stock up on cheap food and beer that'll tide you over so you don't end up spending too much.

The awesome line up for anyone who hasnt seen it:

    Explosions In The Sky
    Tortoise
    Shellac
    Dirty Three
    Melvins
    Mudhoney
    The For Carnation
    Papa M
    Deerhoof
    **** Buttons
    The Drones
    Sleepy Sun
    Bardo Pond
    Battles
    Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks
    Sunn O)))
    J Mascis And The Fog
    Apse
    Alexander Tucker & Decomposed Orchestra
    Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    Modest Mouse
    The Breeders

There is basically 3 main venues. The biggest one is kind of like a big atrium in a shopping centre (better than it sounds) then there are 2 night club type rooms one is bigger than the other. There is another bar or 2 as well where they might put some stuff on.

They also have a waterpark, go karts, a funfair, a bowling alley and sports courts. There are all kinds of places to eat including Burger king and Pizza Hut. http://www.butlins.com/resorts/minehead/on-resort/

Its so brilliant having your own chalet to go back to. A comfy bed to sleep in and hot showers in the morning. Would recommend getting self catering so you can party in your living room.
