Hi all, my Cateye Wireless Computer is giving trouble (reset itself about 10 times on Saturday !) so it's heading back to Wiggle and I'm looking at alternatives. Just wondering what you would recommend. Would need usual Cycle info, Distance, Speed etc, and probably will go for something that does cadence and Heart rate too.
Preferably looking for something wireless, neat and RELIABLE !
    Cheers, LastGasp.

Polar CS200 I think is a basic good HRM. I think el Tonto uses it.

I have that model and it resets every now and then. Drives me batty when I'm just back from a spin!

If you want reliable maybe consider not going wireless, I have four Cateye wired computers that have been rock solid for periods in excess of ten years in the case of the oldest... However if you want a HRM that is going to have to be wireless I guess... I would certainly suggest a Garmin, great devices, but without their own flakiness.

I have the strada wireless and it does the same thing! Got a polar instead as it was annoying me so much but never though to send it back!

I've the (must be) original Cateye wireless - no problems after maybe 8 years of use.

I also have a Topeak Panoram wireless computer that I find good - no problems yet in anycase after ~12 months

Hi Alfalad, Thanks for that. Has your Polar behaved itself OK, and how long have you been using it ? CS200 cad looks like a good setup, and not too dear at about 130.

Thanks Blorg. I'll be going back to my wired Cateye off my old bike for a while until I see what Wiggle say, so hopefully that'll be OK. Would like to get HR and Cadence though, but dont fancy shelling out for a Garmin just yet !

The CS200 is the one i have and like it but the fact you have to turn it on every time you hop on the bike i find is a pain! Maybe there is a way round it but I'm not sure!

Have to recommend the piece of kit on my bike. Can't fault it apart from maybe having too much info at hand.Comes with cradle to hook up to a pc and you can view all sort of stats from your ride.

    Sigma Sport Rox 9.0
Not a bad price from Bike24,that's where I got mine and found them good to deal with.CRC have it for €100 dearer.
It does everything you'll need on a bike.

what chance including one when purchasing a bike on Govt. cycle scheme I wonder?

Should be no problems including one with the cycle to work scheme as it includes bicycle accessories when buying a bike.

Hi Tax Man, That's a serious piece of kit ! I never saw so many functions on anything. I'm not sure I could do it justice. Just wondering are the sensors as big as they look, or are the pictures deceptive ? Tks, LastGasp.

I have this one as well and would recomend it I've had no problems with it at all and I reckon it ticks all the boxes you're looking for as well as being relatively cheap.

Cadance sensor just under 2" in height...

Speed sensor just under 1.5" in length...

They are quite bigger than the cateye sensors as you can see on the chainstay.

Steer clear of the Boardmans they sell in Halfords. I had one that was nothing but grief from the moment I got it. Mind you, I then got the Cateye Strada!
