    Hi,
I'm a complete newbie. Was in the Astronomy Ireland shop yesterday looking at the telescopes and one thing I didn't ask about was how easy is it to take photos using a telescope? Is it only the dearer telescopes that are suitable?
    Thanks!

    Hi Shopaholic

In general if you wish to get into astrophotography the more you spend the better.

To take shots of the moon and craters would be relatively easy. But to get anything else you will need to to be motorised, and for long exposure you will need to get an equatorial mount. You can get a fork mount and wedge but it is not ideal.

You also definately need to shop arround for the best prices.

    Hope this helps.
