Ah! Now I get the whole Leia/Luke thing!

    1977 - Star Wars
1980 - The Empire Strikes Back
1983 - Return of the Jedi

So I saw all of these films in the cinema at the time of their original release. I loved all of them. Never bothered to go see any of the following ones mainly because I heard they were all rubbish.

So this afternoon I get to watch the one were all is clear to me! RTE1 I think.. shows how Darth Vader begins, who Luke and Leia's mother is! etc..etc..

Don't know about any of you but my life is more complete now that I know the details!

and yes I know I am old!! :p

Yup. They like to fck with people like that.

As much as I agree with you Dartz, you really have to give it to Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Mother****ing Jackson, Liam Neeson and Christopher Lee. Credit where credit is due man. They tried their best, but it just couldn't be saved.

    ...Oh! And Natalie Portman:o

You've given me an idea foxinsox, what with me having the true trilogy boxeset stored away somewhere... Must find that and relive the awesomeness.

So cunning it could have been devised by the fox that was just appointed professor of cunning at Oxford university.

I liked them (the prequels), and in fact episode 3 was only second to episode 5 in order of greatness.

Oh that's just 10 different kinds of colours and shades of wrong.

    It goes: 1) Empire
    2) Hope
    3) Return

    ...

    That's! It!

Do we have to re-write it?

Can we not just stick with the original three and ignore the rest? :)

revenge of the sith was indeed quite good , i found anakins struggle and eventual turn to the dark side almost engrossing , compared to the crap that went before , the sith was a near classic , though still not a patch on 1977 , 1980 or even 1983

To be fair, the prequels weren't entirely done with green-screen.

    Some scenes used blue-screen.

So the moral of the story is...
Don't start a thread in AH and make a complete muppet of yourself!

oh! wait, I'm old and my brain has turned to mush! Therefore I am excused..
So for all the rest of you, how come it got to 25 posts before any of you noticed my fatal error?

    What's the done thing now?
Should one sneak back and edit the first post?

I feel dirty after watching that!

Makes me want to sell all my Star Wars figurines, admit there was only 72 orignal episodes of Star Trek and move out of my parents' basement.

I remember back when it was ok to like Star Wars. It all changed in 1999 when a bunch of (then) 30+year olds had their childhoods (rather than their bottoms) raped . Had it been the latter they could have at least finally claimed that they weren't virgins.

As such I'd like to go on record and say I think Star Wars (including the new movies) are grand. They're like pizza, even when they're bad they're good ... and are certainly better than most of the utter ****e that makes up the competition these days.

This reminds me of the 'but kids like JarJar' bit in Spaced.
Clip probably available on Youtube but my dial-up connection makes viewing such a clip less likely than hitting the exhaust port on the Death Star.

    I used to hit wamprats.....

Unless there's a midi-chlorian orgy in the deleted scenes somewhere.

I thought Sith was great. All apart from "You're breaking my heart" and the robot then saying she was healthy but dying and they didn't know why.

That was just ridiculous. Would have been far better if they said she died because Anakin choked her too much.

Also, Darth Vader stumbling forward and screaming "NNOOOOOOOO!". That was just laughable. Tried finding the clip of Kevin Smith ripping the p**s out of it but couldn't

Clones was alright too I thought. Just Menace really sucked. Apart from Neeson and Maul

Lightsabers are awesome. Fanbois are a bit odd. The next video clip is the funniest I've ever seen though.
