    Hi guys,

prob a topic covered before but, just on the verge of buying a celica up north, and just used the 'rose.ie' online calculator for VRT for this...and the difference is shocking..

its seems to be purely based on the OMSP? VRT for a VVT-I model is around 1700euro...yet the VVTL-I model is working out at 3700euro? The OMSP of the L-I is 11k, compared to 5k for VVT-I. Where do they base these figures on. The car im lookin at is the L-I model, but fooked if im payin that for VRT?

Seems mad alright but I have seen some crazy price discrepancies on ros.ie. You could always pay the vrt and then appeal but who knows how that would go ? apparently most appeals are successful though.

The problem is that the vvtl-i has CO2 emissions of 200 and this puts it in the higher VRT band so it's going to cost more. I really don't know where they get the figures from for comparisons. The vvtl-i is the one to get though, same road tax as the vvti but more power.
