Hi. I have original railway sleepers forming the edge of a flower bed, due to a proposed extension I need to shorten the bed. What is the best/easiest way to cut these. (about 6" wide and 10-12" deep). Would a concrete saw do the job. I'd rather cut it in situ rather than take it out. Thanks!

consaw not the tool for this job-you could try a chainsaw if you can make enough clearance around the proposed cut...but having said that if the sleepers are the old orig type, they can give off toxic dusts and also there is always the possibility of running into imbeded metal objects in the wood...proceed with caution!
