Ethernet + Laptop + Internet HELP

Ok i have been accessing the internet from my vista hp laptop from the ethernet port and its been working fine up until now, My internet connection is fine because when i try access the internet from my xp computer using my ethernet port it works. My laptop says that the ethernet is functioning properly can anyone help

Try using the net with XP laptop for few mins, then try again with the Vista. I sometimes get the same problem with my vista laptop.

Oh and btw do you have Norton? remove remove remove!! Seriously bloatware.
