Just notice on the Dual carriageway (N20), the NRA have Motorway (blue) signs at the Dooradoyle exit (EXIT 2) and At the Roundabout at the top of the overpass have Cork M20 (Blue sign). You think that they keep the signs covered until they actually put all the infrastructure in place late next year when the construction of the Tunnel and Neagh bypass is put in place first. Talk about confusing people.

the minister has signed for this to happen and the nenagh - limerick road will open this year and it will take a while for the whole of the limerick bypass to become fully motorway, lots of work to be done, but it is a bit stupid to be honest.

Officially August, but as soon as the first 120kph goes up it will be 120kph. It will matter little what some council official paper work needs doing so long as the speed limit is increased.

Corks N25 is 120kph and the road is still considered a national road with green signs.

    Crazy folk.

eh no its not stupid. The M20 is not the Limerick bypass, its part of the Limerick-Cork road. The rest of the N20 is to become M20 in a few years so they have redesignated this section to prevent it from inappropriate development so they dont have to do an online upgrade in the future.

The whole Limerick bypass wont be motorway, the tunnel section phase 2 under construction was not in the second tranche of motorway redesignations. Phase 1 was so will be motorway M7 from 28th August.
