Joining the Reserve Defence Forces (RDF)?

    Hi,

I'm interested in joining the Reserve Defences Forces since I was 16 but have never gotten much free time to do it. At the moment, due to things with the economy I've plenty of free time and I would like to get involved.

However, I've a few questions for anyone who has experience from the RDF and the entry procedure:

    1. What level of fitness would be required and is there a weight limit? I currently weight about 113kg (just under 18 stone) and am currently working out to force it downwards.
    2. Is there reimbursement of costs incurred during training?
    3. Is training complicated or diverse? (I don't want to have to wade and swim through rivers on a march or otherwise I'd join the Naval Reserve).
