Hey, Im just wondering if people are expecting an Accommodation rush this year like we have seen in previous years? Would it be naive to think that we wont have the same big rush in August just because of the slow down in the property market!? After all, you would expect that the numbers in NUIG would be similar if not larger then last year.

You think that the introduction of fees/the extortionate inflation of the registration fee is going to increase numbers? lol wut

People going back to college instead of staying unemployed. But kudos on the helpful post Fionn.

OP I think there's going to be a lot more housing available but the people looking to rent it out will still play off the fear of there not being enough and that competition will be high. Also a lot of the excess housing will probably be a good bit out of town, in estates like Roscam or whatever that will be harder to rent as places in town have opened up during the year. However there could also be a lot of places up in the Newcastle area that have opened up and there would be a lot of students there. I guess the answer is it depends on where you want to get a place.
