Didn't hear it but I'm glad she didn't give birth to the spawn of utter scum.

I don't think your vile views have any relevance to this case.

With all due respect, I think it's harsh to describe Winsock's view as vile. We are talking about a man who raped a child and an elderly woman. The girl is better off not having any connection with this man.

She wanted to give the child up for adoption.

I think Windsock made a very valid point and vile should be used to describe the rapist

You play the pro-life card very well but I have a sense that you are like a 'reformed smoker'. i.e once a pro-abortionist who took on SPUC in the early 1990s. As such, your views cannot be taken seriously.

I would not be surprised to hear that you are a mate of Ivana Bacik's.

Feel free to correct me in the unlikely event of me being wrong about this.

In the early 1990s I was playing with Lego. I was never a pro-abortionist. You are wrong. :p

What's to discuss here? If she was forced into having an abortion then it's patently wrong.

She wanted to give the child up for adoption.

Then her wishes should have been accepted and supported. I'm not going to get into an argument about pro/anti abortion. I don't have any personal knowledge of the subject, so my views are completely abstract. However, I do support the rights of the people involved to choose for themselves how its going to pan out.

    Sins of the father etc.

    Sins of the father etc.

Does that mean that the child would grow into the father despite never being raised by him? I certainly can't agree with that.

How do you get that she was forced into having the abortion?

She obviously wasn't sat down and told the full ramifications, consequences and other options open to her.

It transpires that the girl wanted to keep the baby but was forced into having an abortion.
That's as fucking dispicable as the rape it's self.

Forcing a mother to kill her offspring. Thats abhorrent.

Read the article, or better, track down the podcast of the interview.

Why dont you go up the girl who got raped, tell her that statement, and see what she says.

Just read the article there alright. It's a shame another innocent life had to be destroyed.

What exactly is your point, Turgon?

Why don't go up make that statement to a rape victim? - Maybe because I don't know her; it's inappropriate. Or maybe because she's suggested it was against her will.

You seem to suggest, from the tone of your post that you disapprove with my position. Do you feel it was ok for her to be encouraged to get an abortion of which she said herself was "she wasn't sure what an abortion was at the time and that if she would have been, she would have carried to full term."

    Interesting.
