A little advice on a 6mile mountain run

I've never done mountain running before. I just completed my first half marathon at achill this year (my time was 2h03min). Would I be fit enough to take on the Ballyhoura 6 mile mountain run? The link below describes terrain.

I honestly have no idea how difficult a run like this would be. Would some hill training over the next three weeks be okay, or is this much more tasking than the Achill run? I'd love if someone could share some wisom

of course you can do it. You'll likely have to walk a bit of it, but so will everyone else except for the top few. It's no more taxing than a half marathon, but it is different and you should definitely try a few hill runs just to get a feel for it. Plenty of route maps on the imra site to try out. Although not many down that way, so best thing to do is practise the route to get a feel for it.

+1 to that. Turn up and have a go. The imra races are great events and it could prove addictive. A bit of training in advance would be handy but not totally essential as these races cater for all ages and abilities which what makes them so inclusive.
