hi i am thinking of renting out in clane, but i still want to be able to socialise in dublin,

does anybody know or have experience of the nightrider to clane??

is it reliable and how long does it take, seems to look like it would take 1 1/2 hours which seems pretty long,

anybody find it a pain to get back to clane from dublin after a night out??

if anyone could let me know what they think it would be a grate help!
    thanks:)

Personally, I would not want to travel that length of time after a night out. Anything over an hour, is really a bit much IMHO. Would Maynooth/Celbridge/Leixlip be a bit closer perhaps?

AFAIK, if you miss that one bus, you're f**ked. People I know who've missed it had to do one of three things, depending on how much money they had: get a taxi, get a hotel, or sleep rough.

It sounds a bit mad. Where will you be working / studying / other stuff?

It doesn't pick up on the way back in either. Nice one Bus Eireann!

i think it does? Not having a star means its drop off and pick up. The old, now gone enfield service did, i used it to get in to the airport once!

I have got that bus quite a few times and I really don't like it - I always find it difficult to figure out which one is the Nightrider vs the ones that go elsewhere (but I only got it <5 times). I get a taxi and you will get that for ~€50.

Celbridge is a better option if you can rent there.

The reason it takes to long is it goes Dublin -> Naas -> Newbridge -> Sallins -> Clane

I second this. As you don't say why you want to move to Clane, Celbridge may suit you also. There's a nightlink route to Celbridge.

I have heard Nightrider service to Clane (and maybe to Naas/Newbridge too) is getting the chop.

Next best option would be Dublin Bus nitelink to Maynooth or Celbridge EUR 5? + taxi/cab to Clane EUR 25 to 30.

At Christmas there was a direct nightrider through Celbridge to Clane.

Aye, they chopped the Enfield one last year. I used to get it regularly enough, but it was always empty. It was like getting a 53 seater taxi home!! I used to love it, and miss it now :)
