Hello, looking for some advice on run's in Dublin. Did a google search and Dublin Simon Fun Run came up in Phoenix Park. Has anyone done this and would you recommend? I am looking for a small run to start me off so thought this might and it's for a worthy cause too. thanks

    Hey Firstrun,

Never done that run myself but there is a 6KM ST JAMES'S HOSPITAL FUN RUN next Thursday. It’s around the Liberties on Thursday evening after 19:45. I think the entrance fee is Eur20 for Adults & Eur10 for students.
    Here is the website: http://www.stjames.ie/AboutUs/Donations/FundraisingNews/StJamessHospitalLibertiesFunRun/

Very tempted to do it myself but its on the same time as my pilates class :( and I love my pilates classes. I am hoping to do a couple of fun runs before taking on a full on marathon.

Fantastic race for a first-timer, all types of times and abilities, runners, walkers, the whole show and not intimidating at all.

That was the first race I ever ran two years ago (in 2007) :)

If you're looking for something a lot sooner there's the Civil Service 5k in Phoenix Park next Friday evening...

Was one of my first races last year, small entry, cheap price and a very friendly crowd! There's more info on the meet and race thread or send me a PM if you want some info...

I might actually do the Simon one this year, it fits perfectly into my marathon training schedule. :D Going from memory I think it goes in the opposite direction to the adidas races doesn't it?

Hi, I am also really interested in doing a 5k run to start me off, I would really appreciate it if someone could recommend one around the end of August/ start of september in the Dublin area or outside of Dublin if the race is on at weekends. Also if anyone can suggest what sort of time I should be aiming to complete a 5K run in I would really appreciate it. :)
