Volunteering with Sunshine House in Balbriggan is highly recommended!! They organize week-long summer holidays for children in a big house in Balbriggan - average 90 children on the week and plenty of experienced volunteers to show you the ropes. Their season is over at the end of August, though, so it may be a bit late for this summer, but if you have a week next summer, go for it. It's great fun!

    +1 on Sunshine

My girlfriend spent a week there at the end of June this year and a week the summer before, and has nothing but good words about the place. I'd love to join her next year, superb charity.

In the mean time though, St. Vincent DePaul are always happy for more help in many of their projects; homework club, kids club etc. if you're in college they will have a society that you can join and then get involved that way, otherwise have a look on their website.
