Complete noob question here but how do I change the bulb in the bathroom light pictured? It's your basic plastic entry level bathroom light. I've tried tugging it, turnign the white part, turning both parts, all to no avail. I can try harder but at this stage the light is moving around on the ceiling rather than coming apart so I thought I'd ask wiser heads than mine before pulling the whole thing off the ceiling!

If it's the light fitting I think it is, you need to prise the white cover off with a flat head screwdriver. There should be a little gap somewhere between the white part and the black part to let you get the screwdriver in. If it has to be screwed off (If the base has threads), I'd say get someone to hold the base/black section while you unscrew it apart, or if you're doing it on your own push it towards the ceiling while you unscrew it.

    Hope this helps:pac:

It is a clip on diffuser (cover) It should have a slot somewhere where the white diffuser meets the black base. You can usually get away with using a coin or a large flat screwdriver to open it. They can be very hard to get off sometimes...... it will probably end up on the floor when it suddenly lets go!
    Hope this helps. :D

Just finished typing and have seen Atarimans reply..... Better 2 replies than none!

Get a flat head between the white and black and pry it open a bit. Get a 2nd screwdriver and do same about 40 degrees either side. It's tricky but once its off it's off!
Then jus clip back on when done...
Check it works before putting the cover back on though

    *edit*
    *beaten to it*

This type of light should be banned. I've spent the last 2 weeks, twisting, pulling and levering it, and it still won't come off. I'm getting very fed up of showering in the dark.

I just came across this post and tried the two screwdriver thing, but I can't even get the second screwdriver in between the plastic and the black holder. It just skims off and I think I'm at risk of stabbing myself.

I might have to admit defeat, and but a whole new light fitting, and get somone to fit it. I hope any electrians I call won't laugh at me!
