Whats the best new season veg. you've had this year?

From my point of view it has to be the fresh carrots, from the Maharees in Kerry.

Young sweet carrots, they come with the green tops on, along with the sandy soil.

Those carrots along with locally grown queens potatoes, I have no need for meat on my plate.

Growing a deadly variety of courgettes this year which are exceptionally well flavoured, same story for this type of cucumber we're doing, they only grow to half the size of supermarket ones and are a lot thicker (they're not gherkins) and they taste amazing!
