Need some advice. First of my friends is getting married in a few weeks. Need to get a dress for the wedding. Not really into fashion at all. Anyone have advice where could get a dress for the wedding in the west? What type of dresses r in for weddings?

Coast have some dresses at the moment. Not sure where in the West you are, but there is one in Galway I believe.

Karen Millen always have lovely dresses, also try places like Warehouse and Oasis, they sometimes have dresses which would be suitable for a wedding. Oh and as for types of dresses, at the moment a lot of people seem to be wearing pencil type dresses. If your shoulders are exposed get a nice wrap too.

What I noticed these days is every wedding is different style with the guests! Wedding in the church here almost every week or fortnight! the last one looked like all the ladies had stepped out of Ascot, one previous to that had every sort of a dress at it & the one before that was more casual... & nooooo I do not linger around the gates watching what they're wearing. The church happens to be stuck at a set of traffic lights, it's pretty hard to miss them all dressed up when your sat in traffic!

I've to go to a friggan wedding in September , I just ordered too dresses out of the littlewoods, looked at them online & just said meehh that will do, ah that will do, I'll just send back the one I don't like. Fashion wouldn't be my strongest point or em any point really, I'm more a see it- like it- get it, can't get it find it (has to be something I really want to bother that much lol) or grab what I like & go person, lol so if your like me I'd recommend going onto a few sites & pick a couple of styles, fabrics & colours ya might like then go have a gander around the shops, least that way you won't be in a complete haze in the shops as to what your looking for.

If you're in the west, I'd pop into Debenhams, some lovely dresses and a lot are on sale at the moment, as well as there being lots of new stock, You'll pay a bit less than Coast or Karen Millen etc and will wear it again no doubt..

French Connection have gorgeous dresses, a lot of them are quite simple, so you can really jazz them up with accessories...a nice wrap, bag, shoes and minimal jewellery. The thing about French Connection dresses is that because they are simple, elegant and well cut, they dont really tend to go out of fashion, particularly the black dresses. Try accessorize for the accessories, they have gorgeous stuff at the moment.
    Monsoon also have lovely dresses.
