    Howdy,

I've definately 100% decided that my next tattoo is going to be dotwork. Lots of dotwork and negative space - I think it can look quite feminine for black 'n gray.

Anyhoo, I can't think of anyone here in Ireland who has dotwork in their portfolio.

Can anyone remember seeing any work done here like that?

I got my 6th tattoo done yesterday but was advised not to go for dot work unless i was prepared to sit in the chair for hours as its so time consuming, the tattoo consisted of dot work but Ian in Jmd's told me that a chisel effect would look just as good and he was bang on!! But that depends on the type of tattoo/design YOU want. The issue of time did'nt neccesarily bother me but obviously the more time the more money!!!! Hope it works out for ya either way.

can't think of anyone here that specialises in that although my fiance got 2 kick ass spider webs done in dotwork by a guy who worked for a bit in the old zulu shop, think he was hungarian. he did a great job although it did take quite a bit longer than normal. failing that, if you have a few quid you could pop over to the london convention in sept, both dan dimattia and jondix will be working it and they seem to be experts at dotwork

Thanks for the replies - I had a look at some of Jondix's stuff and it's so gorgeous. I especially like this one:

I just love how with dotwork you only realise after a few minutes "Hey, that's made up of millions of dots! Cool!"

As for the long sessions involved - it'd be a pretty small tattoo so not that bothered. I guess I'm just going to have to talk to several guys and see if they're willing to do me up a design!

eta: oh wow, look at this one....
