    Hey,
I've always been jogging with a cotton t-shirt, but my friend recently told me that that's the worst thing to have on.

He said I should be wearing some kind of special, jogging, polyester, sports thing...you can probably tell I'm no expert :o, I'm open for suggestions :pac:

I'm with you - I wouldn't know a technical T-shirt if it bit me. I do all my running in cotton T-shirts, usually from past races.

There will be others on in a minute that will disagree...

Doesnt really matter what you ware once your running, some T-Shirts might let you breath more, but there are no rules that you have to ware them :)

Many people (me included) don't like running in cotton as it makes them sweat more, becomes uncomfortable when wet (with either rain or sweat), and leads to unpleasant problems such as nipple chafing.

For others, cotton seems to work fine.

There's no rule with what you should wear! If cotton works for you, then go for it.

I've seen people running in everything from cotton t-shirts to lycra gear to a luminous green Borat man-thong (in a half-marathon, no less).

Personally I prefer wearing wicking t-shirts over cotton because I am a sweaty betty but each to their own!

I use the tee shirts that has the wicking capability, cause if I use a cotton tee shirt for anything over four miles, my nipples get wrecked from chaffing

If you are going to persist with the cotton t-shirts, please for the love of God, cover your nipples with water proof plasters.
I speak from painful experience .

I now only wear the wicking tops with the added protection of the aforementioned plasters (even for very short runs).
My nipples have never been happier .

Hmm, this nipple chaffing thing seems to be a huge problem for some, I've never had it (thank god!), but it sounds nasty.

I think I'll go with these wicking t-shirts, they sound like the real deal!:)
(I'm assuming you can get them in any random elvery's/Lifestyle sports)

Anyway, thanks for the advice everyone, I'm glad I got it now!!!

+1 for whatever feels comfortable; when I got going I just wore whatever came to hand. My only reason for changing to technical t-shirts was that i was ruining my decent tshirts with a smell that just wouldnt wash out :D!

I'd never had any nipple-issues till a few months ago at a marathon; it was quite hot, so was sweating a lot and dowsed myself with water every few water-stations.. turned out to be a bad idea, tshirt got heavy and chaffed a bit. Didnt realize till the next day in teh shower when things started to sting
