    Hi, i have a xxxxx.wordpress.com account and would like to get rid of the wordpress extension.
    I've noticed that my blog name (without the extension) is available from any Domain providers.Is it easy to switch? and how do i go about it?
    I dont want to spend €15 on the name only to find out there are difficulties in switching over.

    nope it is pretty easy. the likes of blacknight offer a blogger package with Wordpress as well.

    you can import your posts from your wordpress.com blog to your hosted blog pretty easily.

    wordpress also offer domains, which means you can remain hosted by them.

    I found the Black Knight blog hosting to be very easy to set up and maintain, their support is good as well!
