For some reason any headphones i get break after about a month.
Is this because of my ipod?or because i'm buying cheap headphones?

Well are you buying cheap headphones? :)

Headphones are fragile things and cheap ones have a very short life. I bought an imitation Apple set on eBay for cheap and the sound was awful so it was almost a blessing they broke after a week.

My apple ones lasted a year without an issue.

the apple earphones are dire though too.

they last about a year and that's it.

they leak sound more than a sieve leaks water.

the new ones are cool the way they have volume up/down.
