    Didn't look too great from the streaming video on the NASA site.

    Same here, it is definately losing something in the process - I dont like the restored footage

    It looked a good bit better on Sky than it did on online NASA tv.

    It isn't an amazing improvement, but they're only 3 weeks into the process.

    Just a preference I suppose, I think I prefer the grain

    I always prefer old film grain to digitally smoothed out crap.

    Must look at this on TV later. Hopefully NASA will offer a decent download.

    EDIT: So is it correct that this new improved video is still from the camera pointed at the original monitor?

    Looked a lot better on SKY than on NASA tv. Difference in quality wasn't huge though.
