I usually use any freebies to do long term bets.
Maybe a €2 Yankee on your picks to win the 4 divisions of the english leagues, give you 8 months of excitement*

    * excitement may not last beyond weekend1 when you realise the teams you've picked are muck

Do an accum on the GAA this weekend. I reckon Galway in the hurling v Cork is a stand out bet at evens. Add in a few others perhaps hanicaps. 2 handicap bets + Galway in Hurling would give you roughly 8/1. I think Mayo will have too much for Galway in the football too but up to you!!

If you are interested in short odds bet maybe back the tips from Wayne Bailey?

Also the cycling is pretty predicable at the moment, if it is a sprint finish nobody will beat Mark Cavendish. It is a slightly uphill sprint today but if he is in there at the last 5 km, then he will more than likely win the sprint. Keep track of it and then back in running near the end. Stage wil finish in and around 4.20/4.30. If he is there it is easy money. If not, wait for another day that he is in the mix. You should get 10/11 on him but pretty much a sure thing!

Cavendish won the first intermediate sprint which was slightly uphill, so I would have no worries with the last finish if it is a sprint finish. I will post here closer to the time if I think its his. No promises obviuosly but I will be backing it! Keep an eye on PP live betting to get a feeling of whether he is in the mix. There is a breakaway but loads of time left and the last 40km is relativey flat so any break should be caught. He is 13/8 at the moment but no point rushing in yet!

You can't go wrong with a free bet whatever you pick. I'd say go for something you'll get a bit of entertainment out of, one you can watch on tv.

I'd stick it on one of the 5 or 6 players on top of the Open leaderboard on Saturday evening, and you'll get some good entertainment watching the final round on Sunday.

Glanman what ya think about Cavendish for this stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭glanman

I'd be holding tight still. The breakaway is about 4 mins ahead with roughly 55 km to go.

Cavs team are said to be taking it easy today so he might not be in the best position at today.

    I'll let you know!

    Pellizotti is looking good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭glanman

I have gone for pellizotti but only to put a bit more excitment into the end(4/1)! It will be a manic finish though with 7 riders and all wanting the win. Non Sprinters will try and attack in last 5 km, it will be all over the place and well worth watching.

I wouldnt have enough confidence in any of the 7 to win to reccomend you go with them...

Have a look in the golf, McIllroy has started well and has the game to go well in it. Woods is 5 off the lead and 5/1, could be worth it because you know he will make pretty much anyone bottle it on the last day if within 4/5 shots

    1/2Kevin Painter v Wes Newton 6/4

    1/14Phil Taylor v Robert Thornton 6/1

8/11Wayne Mardle v Tony Eccles evens

8/13John Part v Vincent van der Voort 6/5

    1/6James Wade v Jamie Caven 7/2

    2/9Terry Jenkins v Peter Wright 11/4

Mardle should be grand, I'd leave him in. Part played well in Vegas last time round and should see of van der Voort handily enough, might make him work but Part will pull through. IMO the dodgiest one there is Painter -v- Newton, Painter doesn't always show up and Newton will beat him if he doesn't.

    Barney
    Taylor
    King
    Priestly
    Wade
    Part
    Jenkins
    Lewis
    Mardle

    €20 Accum pays €309.87

If you wana Gambooool throw in Klassen, Osbourne, Lloyd and Anderson which will pay around €1700.

I did the gambooooool one on PartyBets which pays €2.2K, Typical stingy PP

I just did the same on my two accounts, got a measly £5 off skybet, probably because I take too much off them anyway, but PP gave me €20!

Have to bet it in one go, any suggestions this time for the €20 one?

any suggestions this time for the €20 one

Back Graeme Storm for the European Tour event this week at 25/1

might do a golf e/w double, Buick open is one for long hitters, any suggestions there, other than woods...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 732 ✭✭✭Famous45

I think it's great that Tiger is taking part this week, he has no obligation to Buick any longer but they were a supporter and sponsor of his for a long time and this could be the final year we see the Buick Open, I think this combined with the fact that he needs to play more competitive golf has urged him to play. He will be extremely hard to beat, as always and I will be betting on Tiger pre tournament this week.

Of the rest I expect Nick Watney 40/1 to put up a bold show.

Scott Verplank 40/1 is another who can challenge top spot, he has made 14 cuts from 17 with 4 top 10 finishes. He is one of the most steady players year in year out but he is a rare winner and will probably just fall short. Worth a bet though.

I'll put up Webb Simpson 230/1 and I will probably put him up anytime I decide to do a preview of a golf event that he is in, he is an exceptional talent and he is a winner waiting to happen. Just like Sean O'Hair, Nick Watney, Hunter Mahan etc they break through then you hear of them week in week out well you won't hear of Webb right now but believe me you will in the future.

best of luck with your bet

Oh webb simpson is appealling!! I think I will take my time with the bet, want to take PP for as much as I can:)

Off topic a bit, my boss came in this morning with a cheque that he got from the Tote in the UK.

He put a £20 double straight on at Ascot on Saturday on 40/1 horse (he saw a load of the arabs with all their family around the horse pre race and reckoned they surely would only come over if it has a great chance) and another one, won £10,600:eek:

Well if you get your inital bet to win then you can play your raid on power's.

Nice touch for your boss. Who said gambling doesn't pay! :P
