Rifle Scope

Okay, deer paperwork's on its way back now and I'll be moving the rifle to the north soon while the application is dealt with here, so time to shop for scopes seriously. I'm looking to buy second-hand, for value's sake, but very good new deals will of course be considered. Looking for medium range magnification at least and quality glass. What I have in mind would be a Swarovski PV or a Schmidt and Bender Klassic. Magnification should be something like 4-16x50 or 6-24x50, but 3-12x would be considered if parallax were adjustable and I'd consider a fixed 8x56 if I can't get a variable mag at the right price. Looking to keep it to about €700, but open to a bit more depending on the scope. Every offer will receive due consideration of course, so throw them all up.

Keeping an eye on this at the moment. This is the sort of thing I'd stretch for, and perhaps about as far as I can stretch as well.

Must say, had a look through Clive's one and was very impressed. I'd take the Bushnell before as Leupold and if I can't find an S&B or a Swarovski at the right price, it's probably the route I'll go down.

Looking at a Schmidt and Bender 4-16x50 with a Varmint Dot reticle for £750. Hoping to bag this. It's right up at the limits of my budget.

And done. I recognise that this is way outside my budget, but the less this is pointed out to me, the happier I'll be. :p
