I would re-jailbreak your phone, see if that helps. My phone is around 2 months old and battery is exactly the same as before 3.0

Yeah, I'm guessing you've jailbroken? Maybe try a clean install and as above, re-jailbreak it. Maybe a before and after - leave it unbroken for a couple of days (if you can) to compare. I haven't noticed any battery issues since the upgrade, but I've not jailbroken.

Mine isn't jailbroken, and yet im shocked at how quickly the battery erodes

I gave it a full charge here yesterday, and 15 mins later the battery had gone down a notch

    Seems faintly ridiculous

that does not sound right, mine has dropped 3% in 2hrs and thats with a lot of use, phone calls, push emails, Cydia browsing, theme install etc

I would be talking to the store you purchased it from and looking for a replacement if its fairly new

Are you doing anything specifically on it? I've found specifically that using anything which is constantly using any kind of wireless transmission (i.e. 3G or Wi-Fi) and at the same time listening to music or otherwise using "sound" will very quickly drain the battery. So streaming radio or playing music while you surf the web I find are very heavy on battery usage.

    Lads,

If you read up on the ver 3.0 there is a slight issue with the power management on this version. However it has nothing to do with been jailbroken etc.

I got my iPone 3g and the battery only lasts a day even before I JB (Jail Broke) the phone. However what I did was HARD RESET the phone. Hold down the home button for 3/5 secs and hold down the power aswell....this has sorted out my battery. If that does not work a re sync to iTunes might help and in refresh the whole phone (Re regester).

Obviously if you have Video Wallpapers get rid...look great but EAT BATTERY and if you are fetching several email accounts this too eats battery....turning off 3G also helps just enable when surfing.

Major battery problems here lately with my 3GS. Charged it up to 100% at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon, yet when I woke up the battery was at only 3%. Similar story, took it off the charger at 100% at 7am on Thursday morning, few calls during the day, none more than 2 mins in duration, a few emails, and the phone dies completely at 2am on Friday morning. Wifi is off, bluetooth is off, push notifications, fetch email etc all off.

Something funny there, I'm running four email accounts, bluetooth, wi-fi and 3g on a 3g model and I get from 100% at 9am to 66% around 6pm that day (with minimal calls and surfing, but a busy day would still only bring me down to 20% by 6pm)

The only issue I had was when I left tethering on by mistake - the phone maintained a full-time connection to the 'net and the battery was going from 100% to zero in under 7 hours.
