Another Oscail query

I am doing the Humanities BA with Oscail and I am half way through the required modules. I have 6 done and 6 more to do. Our overall marks for each module are made up from 3 assignments and 1 exam. I was bitterly disappointed with one of my exam results, I ended up just 1 mark short of the mark that I was aiming for. I know I am clutching at straws but does anyone know if there is anyway that I could scrape that mark from somewhere. We can only re-sit our exams if we failed and we can only ask for a re-check under exceptional cirumstances like bereavement or illness. Unlike full time students we don't have ongoing communication with tutors once the academic year is over. Has anyone had any experience or success with Oscail with regards marking.

Afraid not. I ended up failing my last exam with Oscail and have to repeat in August. I argued and requested a re-check. However its vitually impossible to get the results re-checked.

It is most unlikely. I have posted in another thread about the whole exams process and to be honest, any discretionary marks that could have been awarded to you most likely would already have been awarded.

So your chances of getting that one extra mark are pretty much slim to none, I'm afraid.

    Thanks folks,
Thought as much, I could kick myself. That 1 mark could mean the difference between a 2-1 and 2-2 degree when I eventually finish, despite great marks in the other modules:(.
