I'm sure that anybody who has Sky digital is aware that most of it's channel's use the 'bleep censor'.This is used as a form of censorship to bleep any innapropriate language.I would assume that there are much tighter censorship laws in England than there are here and as Sky is an English company it must adhere to those laws.Correct me if Im wrong.

Although the bleeping does take from shows such as South Park as much of it's humour is based on crudeness etc,I don't have any problem when it is used in this instance as there may be young children who have access to the channels. But I was watching 'That 70s show' on MTV a few minutes ago. What really peeved me off was that the word 'God' was bleeped.
    The line went
''God help the poor bast*rds who end up working for you''

This just really got under my skin .Part of me is thinking how dare they and an other part is asking whether or not this is political correctness gone mad.

I don't usually rant on AH but this really annoyed me and I wanted to get some feedback on the issue.

Is this on Sky One and so on, or just some of the hundreds of other channels that you can view through the Sky Box? The American channels seem much more conservative than the British ones.

Comedy Central,MTVR etc . . . but I'm fairly sure that their the British wings if those channels . . . it's not the censoring that bothers me,it's the fact that they felt the need to censor the word 'God' . . . Blasphemy I say!

I know, I wish they could just cut out the entire episode.

Yeah E4 are disgraceful for cutting parts! They've cut out loads of parts of Scrubs for the most retarded of reasons. Sky One at one point had censorship that the Pope would think is abit over the top. Comedy Central is the best place for it TBH, especially when it's on late.

I'd say it's more to do with MTV than Sky tbh.

I've even heard 'gun' being censored on MTV...

Music videos on MTV (seems like years ago now) used to get censored more in the UK than they did in the US. It was ridiculous.

What really bugs me is channels censoring shows post-watershed. I've watched shows like Two and a Half Men on Comedy Central at 9pm which had relatively harmless words, like ass, muted.

The last I saw Sky channels don't bleep any programmes. Viacom channels like Comedy Central however are bad but E4 is surely the worst channel for doing this ****.

Was looking at the video for "P.I.M.P" by 5o Cent at like 2 in the mornin'.. girls dancin' around him and Snoop Dogg with their t1ts out.. I can't for the like of me remember what the word was but is wasn't mother******, fuck or anything as strong as that and it was bleeped out:eek:..

Also was browsing through and saw an ad on one of the porn channels and a woman was standing there, no top on and just a skimpy little thong.. She said the word sh!t and it was bleeped out:eek:

No they don't, there is normal two versions aired on different channel.
    One censored and one not.

Some of the older episodes/seasons they did though, it was the style of it. Wasn't there an episode where they all realised they could swear without being bleeped and it had a record number of the word shít in it, 180 times or something? :)
