Heading to Oslo for a few days next week, and wondering could anybody that has been there make any recommendations?

Not a huge drinker, like to have a pint or two alright but won't be going mad. Much to see there at all, or is it more of a place you wander around?

heading to oslo myself in a few weeks, a trip to the theme park (TusenFryd) just outside the city centre is on the agenda

the Viking Ship Museum is supposed to be worth a look as is Vigeland Park

Also the Kontiki Museum. I would have suggested the Holmenkollen Ski Jump but unfortunately it is closed. There's
the Nobel Centre as well in Rådhusplassen right beside one of the ugliest town halls I have ever seen. Drinking beer can be expensive but wine is not as much of a shock to the system. This site may give you lots more ideas. Enjoy.

yeah, I was there a while back and loved the Art Gallery and the Nobel Peace Prize museum, all in the city centre. We hired bikes and were able to drop on and drop off around the city. They have bike depots which you can park at, walk around a bit, then pick up another bike and go for another cycle. Brilliant. We cycled up to the Castle grounds which was a gorgeous ride and had beautiful views of the city.
Also, there is a fab bakery on the main street, Karl Johan st, which has freshly baked hot scones with milk, plain and white choclate. Dont come back here without having tasted them. Thats an order soldier!

Sounds good to me, thanks for the information. That idea about the bikes seems strange, might be worth a go.
