Not quite a classic, but nearly there. There is a Mark 1 1993 Saab 900S (16v) with 197,000 on the for sale locally.

The car is mint inside and out, the mileage is in kilometers and on German roads. Full leather etc.

Myself and the missus love them and I personally think it might be a future classic.

Any idea's what its worth ?

I take it it's LHD? I'd say it's worth very little, but I like them too and i'd agree about its being a future (if not current) classic.

Yep, its a leftie. Not a problem seeing as I'm in Germany.

Any idea on the value ?

Its a classic ;):D One of the lads sold his 900 Ruby last week with 200,000 miles on it for €2200 and everybody reckoned that was too cheap. Turbos are worth more than none turbos. If that car was in Ireland my opinion is that its worth €1200-1500 as a non turbo and probably close to double for a turbo. ......but prices are rising ;)

The value depends mainly on the condition of the car. The prices are between 1k to 4k here, but in Europe cars are more expensive.
The 900 has a few things to look at. Check the gearbox (they are weak) and any spots of rust. Engines are rather bombproof.
Please let me know if you are not interested in the car, as I am looking for a LHD 900 as well.

    Regards.

Sorry, missed that bit! German values will be different from Irish ones in any case, so i'm afraid I can't help you there. I'd see if you can dig up a German SAAB owners club and ask their advice.

900's are definitely Classics in my book. I own an 83 900 Turbo personally, and I use it a lot to be honest, because they are excellent cruisers.

Technically speaking a 900S from 93 isn;t quite an MK1, but they tend to be called the 900 'Classic'. The series ran from 1978 (modelyear 79) until 93. So the "S" (which by the way is Low Pressure Turbo) you;'re looking at would be one from the last year of production. It should have all the cumbersome bits sorted out, and your main worry is to check for Rust (especially around the suspension turrets and drive shaft openings, inside wheel arches and behind any trim sections. Ceiling cloths usually start to drop down, and fixing that is generally about 2-300 euro's. Make sure the mechanics are A -Ok. Gearboxes can be cumbersome, but the LPT's are generally not so hard on them. They can handle 250k plus miles, so maintenance is the key rather than mileage.

It would certainly be a car that you won't be loosing out on money wise, as the values on the continent will remain strong and they have a very devout following. There is always loads of them for sale here in the Netherlands and in the rest of the continent.

This is my own by the way...

Lovely car - love the inca alloys. I recently bought an 87 900 turbo with aero bodykit. I have a few small things to sort out after the NCT but am looking forward to driving it lots.

I thought the 1993 classics were convertible only?
