Yes the is one in every exhaust system. It will be located towards the front of the exhaust system and the purpose of it is to allow a certain amount of movement between the exhaust and the engine. Without it the exhaust would break from movement of the engine and exhaust during driving. Will look something like this.

if this stopped working right. could it cause back part of the exhaust to blow somthing like when a boy racer has a back box on and the car is still and there is like a blow of air or somthing coming out. there isn.t any holes in the exhaust.

The flexi is fitted towards the front of the system for the reasons mentioned above. It could well cause the car to become very noisy if it has started to fail.
Sometimes it can be very expensive to replace this with a genuine part however, it is possible to buy generic flexi section which can be welded in for a perfect repair.

if the flexi pipe fails, i.e it breaks or a rip appears, some of the exhaust gas will escape from the exhaust system at that point.

If the rip/break is large enough, the noise will be like a boy racer car, due to the fact the gasses aren't passing through the silencer box any more....

Well the back box is near the rear of the car and the flexipipe is uaully up at the front of the car near the exhaust manifold at the engine. So they are two separate problems here OP...

I cant see how there is any more exhaust gases coming out than there should be. Im sure you just didnt notice the volume of gas comingout of exhaust ever. You will defo feel the exhaust gases strongly.
