    Ok,

    So you may laugh but.

Swine Fu will prob be a major issue in winter when flu is at its peak and it will affect businesses
It wil be suggested in here that employee's dont come into work if there is an outbreak.

We would like it that is the case the employees can continue their work while out of the office.
This is possible of sales staff, software developers, tech support through VPN, remote access etc but im trying to think of our Admin staff and staff that need access to the paper records. Also our phone - how could we have those answered?

There are prob things I havent even thought of but I feel this may be a good place to find out more

    Hi abakan,

It's an interesting thought which I don't think anyone here will be laughing at.

I don't think there is any way around handling physical items other than being there in the first place or taking them out of the physical equation by digitialising as much as possible. Diverting post to your own address may be an option ( in a very worst case scenario of course ) but if things are that bad for your business chances are they would be for all businesses and there may not be mail on the way. :)

We're lucky enough in that most of our support staff work from home anyway and all our transactions are online. However there is no getting around the fact that someone is physically needed to pack the stock / orders etc.

No laughing here either. This will be a major issue with 2 / 3 week absenses for many staff.

Key areas are retail where staff are in contact with many customers & healthcare where the same applies.

Personally, I think every company needs to have a plan.

    1. If the vaccine become available get staff members ot confirm if they have received it.

    2. Once a staff member is confirmed with the virus, ensure they go home and then the office / shop is cleaned down thoroughly.

    3. Contingency opening hours / back up staff.

The OH is doing up a plan for a healthcare facility which I'll be using & will post when its completed.
