They're definitely showing Blues Brothers this month. Haven't seen anything about the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, although they may show both.

    :(

I have a bad feeling the webpage I've been looking at is for 2008 or something then. Dammit - I've been looking forward to seeing the Good, The Bad and The Ugly in a cinema screen for ages now.

Does anyone have info on The Good The Bad and The Ugly in Cineworld tonight? Its showing in their News and Events section of their website, but I can find no other reference to it on theirs or any other site. I dont seem to be able to book it online on their site, and it doesnt even say what time its on at!

Looks as if the news item has been taken off their website now...

The IFI tends to show classic films week-by-week, or in one-off seasons. This month they did French Nouvelle Vague, in single screenings, but this week they're showing Godard's Pierrot le fou in a new digital restoration.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

The Screen in Dublin is showing Casablanca this week. Doesn't get anymore classic then that.

There seems to be a whole season of classics on in The Screen. I'll be taking in Casablanca and The Apartment for sure.

Blues Brothers isn't to be found anywhere on the cineworld website or in their listings and its meant to be showing tomorrow. I get the feeling the Dublin branch won't be showing it which is pretty dissapointing. Also odd as they had the one day showing of from russia with love

I only managed to get to see Dr. No - it was pretty great getting to see it on the big screen, in a cinema full (surprisingly full) of people who were fairly obviously Bond fans, great atmosphere.

No, I'm fairly sure they didn't. From my inside sources  I hear they are having a classic movies week with different movies. Good idea I must say.

Spartacus, The thing, Blues brothers maybe and can't remember the other one.

Scarface. I was also told today they are trying to get the Godfather trilogy for maybe sometime next month.

The IFI usually have great classic film specials every few months. They had a Kubrick month about 2 months ago which was brilliant. Keep an eye on their website; http://www.irishfilm.ie/ in upcoming months

Would be really good with the whole cinema experience. Fair play to cineworld for finally catching up with the ifi in the classic movies area. Should be interesting if they continue with this trend...

I hope so. I was also told this evening the suppliers of these classic films want them to be shown for up to a week, instead of one day, which I think would be a good idea.

This month the IFI is showing films based on Raymond Chandler books. If you go and see just one, I recommend The Big Sleep, which they're showing this Saturday and Sunday afternoons:

What!? They never advertised it. It wasn't on their website. How did you find out about it? Short of camping outside their big sign I don't know how to be aware of that.

Well, that's what the following thread is about. If people post in it whenever they see a Classic Screening advertised then everyone's happy :)

It was on the site, wasnt advertised on the main page just in the "now showing" part that Monday night, was only a once off, hope they show more stuff though

They are doing a Twilight night the day New Moon comes out, showing the original then New Moon at midnight that same night, cool if you're a Twilight fan, but I hated the first one so I'd avoid this like the plague :D

I would count ANY movie from the past as a classic if it is been shown again. Those that like it will appreciate the head's up and those that don't, won't :)
