Another Motor tax question...

Hi. I am sending a friend into the tax office to tax my car for me today. The car was off the road for a couple of months so I cant do it online. I just want to make sure I give him everything he needs because it would be an awful collar for him to have to go back.

Is it enough to just give him the form, stamped by the Guards with the NCT number and my insurance details etc filled in? I have also changed address since I last taxed it. Is there anything else I need to give him?

I tried to call them to ask but gave up after being on hold for 30 mins.

    Any help is much appreciated...

Yeah that should be plenty. Make sure to give him money also!

this is what i would give him, just incase :

    1. form signed by guards that it was off the road and filled in with all the details of the new tax period.
    2. VLC
    3. NCT Certificate
    4. Insurance Certificate
    5. cash or cheque made out to the relevant Local Authority

may be over kill, but if its a pain to go back then no harm having them with you.

    Cheers for that.
Would anyone know do I need to sign the ownership doc as if I was selling it and they send out a new one with my new address on it or will the usual tax form do?

you dont touch the owners doc (VLC) when taxing it, just keep it with the rest of the stuff.

but when your sending it off for the change of address, then yes you do sign it.
