I need a backless strapless bra for a dress I bought in french connection a while ago which has a completely lace back. I searched in Dublin last winter for one and found nothing so i'm looking on line now. I was thinking of nubra but I had one similar before and it didn't really work I want something that sticks under the arms rather than at the cups. Does anyone know of anythign suitable.

You absolutely MUST get thyself to Pennys - I bought a nude strapless bra there which has a clear-strap back which fastens at the side.
The padding is light so you wont look like Jordan, it gives you a fashionable 'model' shape.
Just make SURE to try on a few sizes as I had to get mine 2 sizes up
    - try going for a 36" if your normally a 34", even consider the next cup up.
Should still be in stock - got mine 3 weeks ago.
    Hope Ive helped! :)

How low does the back have to be?

I needed something backless a while ago and since I'm a G cup I thought it would be impossible to find but I got a basque (with detachable straps). It works really well and is very low down on my back (much lower than a bra). It gives great support and good shape too.

I got mine in a lingerie shop in the westbury mall. I'm not sure what it was called but I'm sure any of the nicer shops in town or figleaves.com should have something similar.

The dress is almost backless so unfortunatley clear back straps wouldn't work. I've posted a link below

ETA i'm a 34c so not huge but I just prefer the shape and support of a bra.

not sure how willing ud be to try this but some celebs use duct tape to give themselves a little discrete lift.... maybe youtube wud have some videos on the structure but apparently they are ideal for very bare dressed persons!

Bought a dress last October which had a see through back to it.

Got a backless/strapless bra in La Senza. 'Dreamshapers' I think it was called or something. Thought it was very good/worked well with the shape of my dress in front.

PS. It sticks on at the sides.

Marks and sparks! The bra sticks on at the sides. This one! I've used it before and I found it great. Mind you I'm only fairly small chested (32C) so I don't know what it's like for decent boobs!

My first post here so hello everybody :)

As alternative to Nu Bra you also have Adhesive Body Bra:

The support bra for backless and strapless wear. You can now reposition the bra where you need the support, and wear again and again up to 6 times.

    Can be bought here:http://www.gigiscloset.com/products/Adhesive_Body_Bra-1771-176.html
but they are US based so shipping is USD30

Anyone who sells bra's like Arnotts or Debenhams would have these.

    http://www.amazon.com/Fashion-Forms-Back-Straps-Accessory/dp/B0000862Y2

They attach to your own bra, pulling it down, and fastening around the front of your waist.

It sounds mad but I have them for a backless (fully backless ) top that I have and you can see nothing of the bra or the straps :D And I certainly do have bewbs :eek: so they would work for anybody.

THey are deadly but as you can see the dress almost gives me a builders ass so that wouldn't work.

    LOL.

Well I was in Marks and Spencer in Jervis St last night and they have these in stock. It might not hurt if you are around there to go have a look. They are in the bra section and are €11.

They also have the stick on bra's in there by the way but I didn't see the price, sorry...

I know the dress you are talking about, it's gorgeous!! I wouldn't go with stick on cups, personally I find them useless they just fall off me after a few hours!!!

You should get yourself a miracle backless body from ultimo, they also do a frontless backless version!! I don't have one but have been meaning to get one for a long time, everytime I see a backless dress that I love I remind myself to get one!!!

Debenhams on Henry Street have a big Ultimo section.
    I can recommend this bra - http://ultimo.co.uk/shop/miracle-solutions-low-back-strapless-138

Best thing ever is La Senza Dreamshapers. Wore a dress to a party recently which was very fitted so didnt want to have visable track of bra stratp at back. Wore this and it was brilliant. Its a strapless, backless underwire bra that sticks on at the sides. Can buy replacemenst stickers for it. It stays on all night and never moves.
