    Hi Guys,

Sorry if this question was posted elsewhere but I couldnt seem to find any answers.

I have a very strong feeling that I am going to be laid off very soon.
My 1 year contract is almost up & I have a very bad feeling that they won't be offering me a new contract. The atmosphere between the Boss & I has changed over the past few weeks and I would say it's pretty clear....

My question is: I have around €15k in savings & I am wondering will this affect my job seekers allowance claim.
On my payslip is my familys address in Dublin but I'm registed as living in the midlands. I had to give my Dublin address to get my current job which is based in Dublin.

How do you think this will effect the claims process?

I have been working for the past 8 years but I was on JSA about 2 years ago for 6 months.....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You should quailfy for Jobseekers Benefit (JB).There is no means test for this so the amount of savings doesn't matter. On JA if your savings are over €20,000 then they start to affect how much you recieve.
