Hiya, my 03 Renault Clio has been giving me trouble lately. First it was the battery which went totally dead, so got a new one at a local battery and tyre place for E75. Then it was the DSC (??or something) sensor that needed repalcing cos my car wouldn't start. Of a 224 Euro bill, only E40 (!!!!!) of that was the actual part, the rest was labour. And I know it only took a half hour cos they called a half hour after I gave the go-ahead to say it was ready for pick up. I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the breakdown (this is in Sandyford by the way).

Anyway, now the car is also overdue for its major service, and the same sandyford guys are quoting me 350Euro. I don't have the time to go to Belfast, where I would save 100 Euro. Does anyone know where in Dublin, Naas, or Wicklow area I could get a quality major service on the car without having to hemmorage some serious money????
    Thanks for reading.

Ah horrible feeling isn't it. I use MKC Motors in Kingswood / Balldonnell industrial estate. They have all the top equipment but dont charge like a main dealer.

Is it possible that it only took them ½ hour to finish the job after they contacted you but that they put time into diagnosing the problem before they called?

OP here, thanks for the replies.

philipm- do you have the number for that garage handy? I could not find the number online.

Also, was wondering if I used the fella found on adverts as mentioned above, would he be able to fill in the service booklet, or doesn't it have to be stamped by a reputable garage? haven't a clue....prob why I get saddled with massive bills. They can spot a car virgin a mile off!:)

Where on earth did you bring the car that they charged you that much for labour!! I know one Renault main dealer used to charge €96 an hour. If your willing to travel in future I have a lad think his labour is 50 or 60 an hour not quite sure.
