I'll be in contact soon regarding this. Just want to clarify something re: this and your regular saturday tourneys.

There were'nt very many game rules laid out for us beforehand. Certain aspects of Cod4 (and most other games as well) can be exploited and it wasn't really explained at the start whether some of this would be acceptable.

For example, in our 1st match, it was Hardcore TD, and we were forced to use the default classes. One of these has last stand as a perk and I shot one of my team-mates who was downed. Doesn't mean anything to our score but robs the opposition of a kill. (I know this wouldn't matter in s+d but was wondering what were your views on this).

Also: glitching. I assume it's banned, but there can be a bit of a grey area as to what constitutes a glitch or not....e.g..the broken buildings on ambush, the ledge with the wooden planks under the corrugated iron on pipeline etc.

Also, how are you gonna work it so people can use whatever perks they want, and will this be standard for all tourneys?

    Cheers.

All good points. Some of them are the reason we're avoiding deathmatch and going S&D.

We're still learning and always taking players opinions on board. I would be interested in having a good chat with you at the next event about possible glitches and rules if you're up for that?

Also on the perks, I think on LAN you can only use default? Will confirm all of this as soon as I can.

Yeah, you should have a standardised set of rules and regulations. I'll have a chat next time i make it and let you know what my opinion is but don't take my word as gospel. You should consult with all players and get their input and try to find a happy medium.

btw, not sure if i can make it tomorrow, so take it for now that i won't, and if it changes i'll give you a ring.

Not on tomorrow dude! August 8th is the next tourney.

And yea I'm working on setting up several different gaming leagues and meeting with as many players and organizers as possible. We'll be putting together a panel of experts to develop the rules/regulations etc.

Right now, you just have to bare with the little hicups unfortunately :o

We work off our own equipment and we don't have enough PS3's for a LAN unfortunately.

There could well be. Not likely by myself. But there are PS3's on LAN in the Xtreme Gaming Centre in Dublin. So I'm sure somebody will set something up at some point.

Why don't you give Xbox CoD a go? There's no difference in the game. Only slight difference in positioning of the analogues on the controller. Can be odd to start with but after a couple of hours you don't feel the difference anymore.

You should give it a go anyway. I switch between PS3 and Xbox 360 with ease these days.

Yeah any chance of a CoD4 sort of league or something? I suppose you are working on stuff like that atm anyways
Me and my cousin and a friend of mine would be deifinitely interested in tournaments and such its just you dont see much PS3 leagues around, or Xbox for that matter.

Would love to see a uprise in gaming leagues in ireland.
