clueless about where to go [for a week away]

Was considering going for a week away with my partner somewhere end of sept.
    Absolutely stuck for ideas.
-was hoping for suggestions of someplace warm, where lazing on a beach is an option, but also lots of other things to do.
I'm not being very creative at all. It's been such a long time since I have been on a holiday, that I don't even know what I want?! Argg

Very open to suggestions and questions that might help me focus a little more on where to begin.

    Thanks!

You could check out Sardinia, lovely beaches and scenery. There's also loads of day trips to various places round the island and if you hired a car you could see and do a lot in a week.

Really busy at this time of the year as the Italians invade for their holidays. I was there in June and it was nice so I would imagine September is the same. Driving is easy unlike the rest of Italy and Ryanair fly direct to Alghero and the airport is nearby.

Thanks! Just did a quick search, and it looks beautiful.
I'll look into this more, but all other suggestions are welcome in the meantime.
