    http://www.travelodge.ie/
    "Dublin Castleknock Travelodge"

It's on the 39/70 bus route into town and down the road from a train station. It's on the 70 Nitelink route.

It's €129 for the room for that night .. not sure how close by you want it or how well you know Dublin but just find somewhere on a Nitelink route IMO.

I've heard that 'D4 Hotels' are doing some half decent rates at the moment.

you are leaving it a wee bit late to book, a normal saturday night in dublin is always very busy and most hotels are usually booked up, i would say everything in the city centre is either gone or the price is through the roof

ucd village has single rooms for 50euro, its a few miles from croke park but you can get the bus http://www.reservations.bookhostels.com/ucdvillage.ie/

I wouldn't stay in UCD if I could avoid it, it's a bit far, although the number 10 bus would drop you over towards Phibsborough which would be close enough, but then you would have to get the bus back there after the concert as a taxi would be 20 odd quid or more. Have you tried to get a bed and breakfast in Phibsborough/Glavinevin/Drumcondra? I think the hotels are pretty much all booked up, everything in town is gone. Santry/Ballymun/Airport areas are where I would go if I were you. Also, you could just go on www.daft.ie and look up rooms to rent in the area, there will be plenty of them around there and I reckon most people with a vacant room and a mortgage to pay would not turn their noses up at 60 or 70 quid for letting you sleep in their spare room for a night (it's not such a silly idea in a recession you know).

HEY, i booked bewleys in newlands cross for 69 euros for the room, 2 people. the hotels in dublin city are a rip off........it supossed to be a Recession, but this country is still typical of ripping people off........ridiculous prices......and i really can't believe people are still willing to hand over this kind of money........and as for the D4 hotels, forget about it...

ever heard of supply and demand? it's a saturday night in dublin which would be busy enough let alone a major band playing to 80,000 people. the rest of the time there are great deals available in most hotels in dublin.

YES i did, but there's no need to be greedy either paying something like 265euro for a basic standard pissy 3star hotel room in the middle of dublin city either.........oh and a breakfast i wouldn't feed to my dog........

Try Days Hotel or The Travelodge in Ballymun.

Or you could try The Travelodge in Swords or The Premier Inn if you don't mind getting the bus - which there are plenty of. Only take about 35mins to get to Croke Park and there's a nitelink service too.

Also, DCU has summer accomadation from €35 p.p.p.n so you could try there although it does seem to be swarmed by Spanish students!!
